THE KW PROCESS

PROJECT ONBOARDING

-Proposal Approval & Deposit – Once your proposal is approved and the deposit is received, your project is officially placed into our production schedule.

-Design Selections – Visit our showroom to select your concrete package, including textures or stamp patterns, integral colors, and release colors.

-Pre-Construction Planning – We prepare scaled drawings, coordinate utility locates, and handle HOA approvals and permitting when required

-Contract & Scheduling – A formal contract is issued, along with estimated scheduling. We keep you informed with clear updates leading up to your project start.

DAY ONE

ON YOUR PROJECT

Ensure the area surrounding the project (approximately 50 feet) is clear of furniture, décor, lighting, and personal items.

  • When available, our site foreman will review the layout and scope with you before work begins.

  • If you are away during setup, please take time to inspect the forms later that day.

  • Any fencing, landscaping, or obstacles previously discussed should be removed prior to installation.

  • Our crew will protect access areas with a plywood access path and remove any existing surfaces as outlined in the project scope.

  • We establish final layout forms and install a compacted 4-inch stone base to support long-term performance.

  • If your project includes piers, drilling will extend below the frost line and 6-inch sleeves will be installed.

  • Any layout concerns or change request must be communicated no later than 9 PM the same day.

Our team mobilizes on-site, stages materials, and installs rebar reinforcement over the prepared base. Your chosen concrete color is batched directly at the plant and arrives ready for placement. Game time! Concrete is transported to the work area using low impact tracked equipment, with trucks typically staying curbside. We pour approximately 5 inches of 5,000 PSI concrete (depending on your selected package). The concrete is poured, struck off, bull-floated, and hand-finished. A release color is then applied across the entire surface. This is a messy process and will be cleaned up the following day. The surface is stamped using the pattern you selected. Any fence posts removed for access will be reset if included in the scope. For safety and curing, please keep all foot traffic and pets off the area for the day.

DAY TWO ON YOUR PROJECT

DAY THREE ON YOUR PROJECT

Wash off all remaining release agent from the project and clean all surrounding areas.

  • Saw-cut control joints throughout the project to help minimize cracking.

  • Thoroughly scrub the patio surface and pressure wash any areas of your home affected by the concrete work.

  • Clean and allow the project to fully dry.

  • Seal the project using our penetrating concrete sealer, which protects the surface without leaving a slippery film.

  • Add fresh topsoil around the patio to level over-dug areas and promote grass regrowth.

  • If requested, fire pits, seating walls, or outdoor kitchens will be constructed after the sealer has fully cured.

  • The remaining project balance is due upon completion.
